I truly cannot believe I started this blog a year ago, December 2017. Why? Because at times it felt like a chore, I had commited to certain days for posts and coming up with ideas is sometimes a challenge.

But it keeps me focused, like the gym, it helps me see the bigger picture and keep my mind on the goals I have set for myself.

Have I doubted myself along the way? More times than I can remember!

Did I want to give up at some point? I did and believe me, it wasn’t easy to bring myself back up but the thought of giving up is worse than the pain of continuing so here I am and it gives me chills to share with you what I have learned so far from the fitness routine that I started in October 2016 and went full on half way through 2017.


Todavía no me creo que empecé a escribir este blog hace un año, Diciembre de 2017. Por qué? Porque a veces era una faena pesada, me había comprometido a postear ciertos días y tener ideas nuevas es un gran reto.

Pero me mantiene centrada, como el gimnasio, me ayuda a ver la gran imagen y mi enfocada mente en las metas que he determinado para mí misma.

He dudado de mí misma a lo largo del camino? Más veces de las que puedo recordar!

Quise darme por vencida en algún momento? Lo hice y créeme, no fue fácil recuperar la fuerza pero el pensamiento de rendirme es más doloroso que el dolor de continuar así que aquí estoy y me pone la piel de gallina compartir lo que he aprendido gracias a mi rutina de fitness que empezó en Octubre de 2016 y me tomé realmente en serio a mediados de 2017.

  1. Determination to continue when things get boring.

Most of the exercises that I do weekly are the same over and over again, I challenge my body but the basics are pretty basic and that’s why they work. Doing what works over and over out of drive is what brings results.

This is why is really important to choose something you feel curious and then passionate about, because the pain of mastering it has to be less than the reward of pushing through the stages of the learning process and growth.

  1. Determinación para continuar cuando las cosas se ponen aburridas.

La mayoría de los ejercicios que hago cada semana son lo mismo repetido una y otra vez, reto a mi cuerpo pero lo básico es eso, básico y por eso funciona. Hacer lo que funciona una vez y otra es lo que trae resultados.

Por eso es tan importante elegir algo que te da curiosidad y que te hace sentir apasionad@, porque el dolor de la maestría debe ser menor que el de superar los diferentes estados del proceso de crecimiento y aprendizaje.


2. Focus and clear goals.

Going to the gym without a clear goal is a complete waste of your time. You might as well use your energy for something else. Fitness is about setting goals, crushing the mental limits, is about moving past the ‘can’t’ to the ‘doing it’. It’s about being focused and it’s a mental game.

It has helped me see through my bullshit like nothing else has, the cheating, the lies, the excuses, the ego, the fake strength, the self consciousness and the self image.


2. Enfoque y metas claras.

Ir al gimnasio sin una meta clara es una completa pérdida de tiempo. Más te valdría utilizar tu energía en algo diferente. El fitness es sobre tener metas, acabar con tus límites mentales, es moverte del ‘no puedo’ al ‘lo estoy haciendo’. Es estar enfocado y es un juego mental.

Me ha ayudado a ver a través de mi bias como nada, las mentiras, el engaño en la dieta, las excusas, el ego, la falsa fuerza, el qué dirán y la auto imagen.


3. Progressive improvement.

You can go from 0 to 1000 in the tech world, you might go from the basement of your home to developing a world shifting app, it has happened and it will happen again. But the brain, your mind, your body, your skills require some warm up and daily training.

You don’t learn this in school, how to behave socially, how to sell, speak in public, persuade, how important is to have a personal brand, how you can create your life. And it takes time, but with clear focus, a plan, a ton of determination and self belief you can reach the stars! Frustration is part of the learning process, just hang in there and keep going!

Puedes ir de 0 a 1000 en tecnología, puedes pasar del sótano de tu casa a desarrollar una app que cambia el mundo, ha ocurrido y volverá a ocurrir. Pero tu cerebro, tu mente, tu cuerpo, tus habilidades requieren calentamiento y entrenamiento diario.

Esto no lo aprendes en la escuela, como comportarte socialmente, como vender, como hablar en público, la importancia de una marca personal, como tú puedes crear tu vida. Y requiere tiempo, pero con la mente clara, un plan, mucha determinación y creer en uno mismo puedes alcanzar las estrellas! La frustración es parte del proceso de aprendizaje así que aguanta y sigue hacía adelante!

4. Los retos son oportunidades de crecimiento.

Como dijo la leyenda del golf Seve Ballesteros: “Me gustaría que las calles fueran más estrechas. Así todo el mundo tendría que jugar desde el rough, y no solo yo.”

Ser presentado con un reto es una oportunidad para comprobar tu fuerza, tu resiliencia, tu creencia en ti mismo, cuanto quieres hacer realmente que tus sueños sean realidad. Si la vida te da limones, haz limonada!


5. Self awareness of the weaknesses and strengths.

Since the moment I decided I was leveling up my fitness journey I could feel the pressure and overwhelm of the challenge, what I didn’t expect is the clarity, the window that opened in my mind: there’s no competition but myself, my habits, my mental limits, me vs. me, nobody else can do the work for me and the only person I lie is to myself if I cheat or I don’t follow through with the plan is me so as long as I follow the plan, one day at a time, all is good.


5. Autoconocimiento de la debilidades y los puntos fuertes.

Desde el momento que decidí elevar mi viaje de fitness sentí la presión y la abrumación del reto, lo que no me esperaba era la claridad, la ventana que se abrió en mi mente: no hay otra competición más que yo misma, mis hábitos, mis limitaciones mentales, yo vs. mí misma, nadie más puede hacer el trabajo por mí misma y a la única persona que miento es a mí misma si no sigo la dieta o el plan así que mientras siga el plan, un día a la vez, todo está bien.


The same in life, follow through, pivot fast when you feel like you are in a plateau and believe in yourself!

How to grow from change.

Move to a new city! Seriously 😉

When I moved to London I knew that I wanted to build a company, I had no clue about business and what it really meant but I knew what I wanted to learn and all my intentions where towards that goal.

Moving to a new country can be scary but I had traveled around the world, mostly solo for almost a year and a half and I have siblings here so that made things a bit easier.

But the challenges are what makes us grow and I had to figure out ways of living here while finding my way, from house sitting to sharing flat with friends and family, sleeping in a mattress on the floor, to working in the food to go section of a health store, to walking 40 minutes to take the train in the snow at 4am to sleep 5 hours and workout and eat rice and beans, all for the dream.

Some might have had it harder, it doesn’t matter, we all face challenges in this life, we all have our battles to win and our lessons to learn, what matters here is the proof that if you want something and your are stubborn enough to follow that call you will find a way to make it happen no matter the struggle.

Victim mentality is one where you get angry, annoyed and pissed off when things don’t go your way.

I used to hate this in others and one day I learned that I had been doing the same, nagging, whining, crying and complaining like a mediocre person would do and that’s what great people teach us, you whip your tears and stand up again no matter what happens.

Acknowledging the power within is knowing that even when things don’t go according to your plan there is a bigger plan and everything is going perfectly according to that plan.

Moving to a new country is the best learning experience you can gift to yourself.

It took me a year to feel like I am living in London and I know I have only seen a small glimpse of what the city can give.

You will only get as far as your beliefs. You want a different reality? Challenge your beliefs and question why you have been doing things the way you are doing them.

Jump! Take risks! Do things your way because if you never try you will never know if it works for you or not.

10 self love tips

Self love can’t live in us half way, self love is loving ourselves fully and it takes the courage of diving deep and owning the lies we are telling ourselves.

Self love can’t be faked, you must love every wrinkle and tummy rolls, small boobs or whatever that it is you are trying to hide or you are not loving in yourself.

Fake self love is when you allow the exterior to determine your value, when if you don’t receive flattering comments or you get rejected then you crumble and crush because your confidence is tied to external validation.

The beauty industry, fashion and fitness is built around this. Women like to be adored, we are born to be worshiped but for that to happen we must, and I say again MUST, worship ourselves before.

Facing the mirror, naked, without makeup, without posing, without facing your best angle, raw, as you are and working every day to love every inch of that body, that’s what we women must be doing daily until the full acceptance of our temple shines through and from every pore of our skin.

I love makeup, I love dressing up, I love fancy clothes and feeling like a Queen but true beauty comes from the knowing of our flaws and being ok with them.

I agree with cosmetic surgery, high heels and sexy clothes. All of it is part of the fun of being a woman and I enjoy it. But it can’t be a fix for something that it’s lacking inside.

This is my project this month of March and let me tell you, it’s hard, but I know that if I do the work and build up the discipline of facing the parts I like less something will grow from the inside out.

There is power in waking up and looking to yourself in the eye, admitting that you might not look your best but the fire in your eyes is something to admire because, hey girl! You made it till here! Overcoming obstacles, inner demons, fears and life challenges that at some point seemed impossible to climb.

Be proud! Honor yourself! Don’t run! Don’t hide! Don’t punish yourself for not being were you would like to be and work on yourself because this is a journey to become who you are!

  • knowing my body type, finding someone who inspires me to reach my fitness goals and keep pushing in the gym.
  • learning about eating habits.
  • facing my reflection in the mirror because I am more than my body.
  • never settling for less than what I want, setting goals and committing to make things happen.
  • detoxing myself from habits, people, places, situations, that lower my vibration.
  • meditation.
  • drinking loads of water.
  • going for what I want.
  • understanding that life is a journey and rushing it won’t get me anywhere sooner, patience.
  • there are no mistakes, I always win because every experience is moving me forward to the next better experience for my growth and providing me with clarity and more tools to keep rising, inner strength.
